“Mr. Schmid is very passionate about what he does, and if you genuinely care to get a little bit of insight on some great works of literature, then this class is for you. However, if you are expecting a gen ed that will be on the easier side (considering it is a 2000s level course after all), this is not the class for you.” - Student From Rate My Professor
“Professor Schmid has been one of my best professors at LSU. Although, I am not a student in the College of Humanities, I have learned a lot from him as a professor and have learned a lot from the class. I have found relevance to my day to day activities as well as the major I’m pursuing. I’ve become more knowledgeable as well as a better writer because of this class. Lastly, he is very structured and has good rules in place which helps his students succeed. He gives many opportunities to boost your grade and is very enthusiastic in his lectures” - Student from LSU
“Good class, an even better lecturer, and very entertaining — by far the best lecturer I have had since being at LSU” - Student from LSU
“When teaching, he was one of the more effective teachers I had. He displayed his vast knowledge on world literature in a way that made me understand very clearly. I loved the presentations and the discussion seminars he had us do” - Student from LSU
